The American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (ACOMS) invites researchers to submit abstracts for presentation at the 45th Annual Scientific Conference. For 2026, research within these categories will be prioritized:

  • Anesthesia
  • TMJ Disorders/Facial Pain
  • Orthognathic
  • Sleep Apnea
  • Trauma
  • Dental Implants
  • Pathology
  • Oncology
  • Education/Training

Submission Requirements

Only complete submissions will be considered.

  • Abstract information (title, category, background and purpose, methods, results, conclusions, etc.)
  • Presenting author information
  • It is strongly encouraged that the presenting author complete this submission form. The presenting author will be the primary point of contact for the submission.
  • Presenting author COI disclosure
  • If accepted, you may be asked to complete an additional disclosure from the CME provider.
  • Figures, tables, and graphs are not permitted in submissions but may be included in presentations.

Submission of Work Previously Published or Accepted Elsewhere

It is the responsibility of the author(s) to ensure they are in accordance with reuse and/or copyright policies if this abstract has been presented at another meeting and/or published in a journal. If this abstract has been presented at another meeting and/or published in a journal, it is the responsibility of the author to request reuse permission from the meeting planners and/or publisher. ACOMS does not take responsibility for author violations of other meetings’ policies and/or journal copyrights.

Selection Criteria

Submissions will be evaluated based on:

  • Importance and Relevance: Is a clear rationale for the work provided? Does the study address an important question? Do its findings have the potential to advance the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery?
  • Originality and Innovation: Is the work novel? Does it present new findings and/or address a problem using an original or improved approach?
  • Quality of Methods and Writing: Are methods well described and valid to answer the question? Is the research abstract clear and well-written?
