The deadline to submit a scientific abstract is Monday, September 30, 2019.
This meeting is an outstanding opportunity for any resident, from PGY-1 through Chief, to gain speaking experience by presenting a scientific abstract or interesting/unusual case in a low-pressure environment. Outstanding abstract and case presentations are eligible to win prizes, including travel awards to attend the 1st ALACIBU & ACOMS International Meeting at the Diplomat Beach Resort in Florida from June 14-17, 2020. All accepted scientific abstracts will be published in OOOO journal.
This is the more formal of the two submission options. Your abstract should be scientific in nature, including research data from a number of cases or procedures. Abstracts should be ready for publication and may not have been previously submitted to another meeting or publication. Your Program Director or another faculty member from your institution should be listed as a contributing author and must have signed-off prior to submission.
Submission is open to all OMS residents who are registered to attend the meeting. Your presentation must be entered via the web form at the bottom of this page and must be limited to 500 words, including all of the following elements: Purpose, Method, Results, and Conclusions. The abstract text should be typed single-spaced as one paragraph. All references included in the text should be numbered and accompanied by the full citation, including author’s names, title, journal name, volume, number, inclusive paging, and year of publication. One figure/chart may be uploaded. Any submitted figures or charts will be published on the bottom of your abstract.

Selected oral abstracts will be allotted ten minutes: eight minutes should be dedicated to lecture and two minutes for questions and answers. Typically, presenters create a PowerPoint to accompany their presentation. The PowerPoint may contain additional graphics or other visuals related to the abstract. Oral presentations will take place on both November 2 and 3. Selected presenters will be notified of their time slots once all abstracts have been reviewed.
