|7th Annual ACOMS Residents Meeting|
November 10 - 11, 2018
Texas A&M College of Dentistry
3302 Gaston Ave
Deadline extended: Sunday, October 21, 2018.
Case reports are less formal than a scientific abstract. They are your opportunity to share the symptoms, evaluation, and treatment of an interesting or fun case that you have encountered during your training. These reports are a great opportunity for you to gain public speaking experience among peers in a low-pressure environment. Case reports will not be published in OOOO journal, but outstanding case report presenters will be eligible to win travel awards to attend our 2019 Annual Scientific Conference & Exhibition.
The main purpose of the discussion is to review why decisions were made and extract the lesson from the case. Reports from the literature are often cited that either directly support or contradict the findings of the case. Be wary of boasting that your case is the "first" to describe a particular phenomenon, since even the most thorough searches often fail to reveal all instances of similar cases. The best case reports are those that make a small number of teaching points (even just one) in clear and succinct language.
