Dear Members and Colleagues,
During these uncertain times, we want to assure you that our priority is safeguarding the health and best interests of our community. ALACIBU and ACOMS leadership is actively monitoring and assessing the ongoing developments of the COVID-19 pandemic and following the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in all of our decisions.
As of March 15, the CDC released guidance that events and mass gatherings of more than 50 people be suspended for the next eight weeks. With twelve weeks until the scheduled conference, ACOMS and ALACIBU will proceed with preparations for a successful joint meeting in Hollywood, Florida June 14-17, 2020. This is a developing situation and we are closely monitoring local state, national, and international guidelines. We are working with the hotel to ensure that they take active measures to heighten sanitation and safety practices in accordance with CDC guidelines.
We will continue to provide updates as we evaluate the situation. Thank you for your understanding and patience during this time. We understand that this is a period of uncertainty for everyone, and we are committed to working together to continue delivering quality education with as little interruption as possible. Please contact us if you have any questions.
