ACOMS HistoryThree men met over lucheon in boston's copley hotel in late 1947, good friends and pioneers in what would become the dental speciality of oral and maxillofacial surgery. The American Society of Oral Surgeons (ASOS now AAOMS) at that time was an outgrowth of the American society of Exodontist.
